Seventeen-year-old Lauren George from Pembroke Dock, an ambassador for Cancer Research UK and now the JLS Foundation, has been very busy in her work lately.

She has travelled to the Cancer Research head office at Angle House in London on numerous occasions to tell her story and record on film her experience with cancer.

She also recently visited Great Ormond Street children's hospital, where she met some of the top cancer doctors and interviewed them for her film clip to be shown on the night of the JLS event.

The following week, Lauren, her mum Tracy and dad Jonathan were all back in the capital, where JLS organised a big fundraising event to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

The event was held at Battersea Park in Evolution, with 500 guests attending, including some of Britain's most famous people, such as Reggie Yates DJ and presenter of the voice, Jonny Gould, Niall Horan (from One Direction), rugby star Lawrence Dallaglio, Olympians Louis Smith and Denise Lewis, Kelly Brook, Keith Lemon, boxer David Hay, and stars from the hit series The Only Way is Essex.

Live acts on the night were Dynamo, Misha B from the X Factor, and the main event of Gary Barlow.

Lauren's story was also played on the big screens, while raffles, donations and silent auctions were also held throughout the evening, helping the event to raise a magnificent total of £1 million

JLS have committed to the charity for the two years as they are about to do their last tour of the country at Christmas.

Also, at the end of the evening, Lauren was presented to the Prince of Brunei, who congratulated her on her achievements and her work with Cancer Research UK.

Lauren, herself, will be adding to the foundation this month as she holds her yearly event, Dance for Life, in the Pater Hall on June 29. If anyone would like a ticket, they are £10 each and can be obtained from her mum Tracy on 07880758671. All money raised on the night will be going to the JLS Foundation for children's cancer research. It is a ticket only event where Lauren will again be performing with some of her family (Mathew George, Jonathan and Phillip George as '60s duo Sky High), while her brother Craig wil doing the DJ-ing with Georgies Disco.

Lauren has a busy few months with Race for Life just around the corner, as well as the travelling work with Cancer Research UK and the JLS Foundation, so please support her and raise money for cancer research.
