Would your organisation like one small gift to start 2022 with a bang?

The closing date for applications is December 31 so why not ensure you’ve filled in and submitted your application for the Saundersfoot Community Treasure Chest.

£10,000 has been donated to West Wales Care Partnership from Welsh Government and Saundersfoot has been selected as the Pembrokeshire pilot area.

“Saundersfoot community council have added a further £1,000 and we have also learnt that the SPAR in Saundersfoot have added a further £200 giving us a pot of £11,200 available for the community to benefit from,” said Nia George, Community Volunteering Development Officer with PAVS (Pembrokeshire Association of Voluntary Services)

“This is a one-off opportunity to apply for anything from £100 to £1,000 for your group. Just think what a difference this could make.

“The beauty of Participatory budgeting is that the decisions regarding funding are made by you the Saundersfoot community so even if you haven’t applied on behalf of a group you still have the power to decide which projects receive the funding,

Decision day will be on January 29 at the Regency Hall (all being well) when all successful applicants will be invited (Covid restrictions allowing) to pitch their projects to their community and share how they would like to spend any potential funding.

“We hope to run a campaign in January to showcase the applications and give you an outline of what applications have been received to keep you updated,” she continued.

“The key to participatory budgeting is Your Cash Your Voice your choice so we will be engaging again with the Saundersfoot community in 2022.
