Begelly and Kilgetty Community Association are pleased to announce the completion of the refurbishment of the Kilgetty Community Hall. Extensive work has been undertaken over the past two years to upgrade and improve the facilities at the hall which has become an extremely attractive venue for a wide range of activities.
The hall now has two large meeting rooms with wifi connection, kitchen, new toilets with full disabled access and a smaller meeting room with its own kitchen area. These facilities, coupled with plenty of free parking next to the hall, make it a very popular venue.
Commenting on the refurbishment, Chris Wright – Chairman of the Community Association - said “We are all thrilled with the final results which have involved a number of local businesses and suppliers working together with the small number of volunteers from the community association who have all contributed to the success of the project”
Currently the range of activities at the hall include :- Short mat bowls, Golden Age club, Bridge clubs and classes (two), Weight loss advice, Police surgery, Community Council, Target Shooting clubs (two), Line Dancing, Church Faith Groups, Community Association. A new Fitness class for the over 50s with gentle exercise is starting on January 15.
Clr. David Pugh – Treasurer of the Community Association – said “The hall has been improved and modernised to a high standard and has drawn many favourable comments from our hall users. All the improvements have come from our own resources and all rents are ploughed back into continuing the security of the hall for the future use of the community. Our aim is, and always has been to improve the quality of life for residents and the Community Hall has become an integral part of that plan.”
Should anyone wishing to start up a group of any description please get in touch and see what is available and what help the association can offer.
The rooms at the hall are available to rent at very reasonable rates and can suit a wide range of uses. Please contact Mrs. Lyn Davidson on 01834 812844 or David Pugh on 01834 812521 to enquire about availability or should you be interested in joining one of the current activities.
