Cosheston village are holding a community event on Saturday, June 2, to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. The event has been planned and organised initially by the Good Neighbour Scheme known as 'Cosh Callout' and set up originally by Pembrokeshire County Council.
However, as word has filtered around the village about the event, many more of our community have been helping in getting the day to run smoothly with lots of fun. The day will start at 11 am with a procession from the east and west of the village of the community wearing their own designed Jubilee hats.
The two processions will meet at The Cross and then walk up the hill as one procession into the Recreation ground where the event will be officially opened by Major Ramsden of Cosheston Hall.
During the day, Cosheston VC School will be holding their annual summer fete. A medieval enactment will follow which leads into the Royal Olympic Games! The day will end with a Giant Jubilee Picnic and live music.
This event is kindly being supported by The BIG Lottery, Wales, from whom a sum of £3,896 has been received. In addition, both Valero Energy Ltd and Pembroke Power Station have each given £500. Pembrokeshire County Council have supported the event with assistance in Welsh translation and printing.
