Sir,
As a follow-up to Alun Morgan’s excellent letter about Tenby’s war-time defences, may I quote from the Daily Telegraph obituary notice of Major Jack Bazzard MC who died in June 2009.
“He was commissioned in the Kent Yeomanry at the beginning of WWII. His first posting was to St. Catherine’s Island, Tenby, Wales. He complained that little could be done to halt any invasion, as the ammunition provided did not fit his guns.”
It’s amazing that we won the war!
