This year’s Celtic Charity Classic Pembrokeshire Run is all set to take place on Saturday June 1.
The first cars will set off from Scolton Manor, near Haverfordwest at 11 am (signing on from 10 am) before embarking on a scenic new 50 mile route (planned by Helen Wilson and Nicola Robinson) which will take entrants on a leisurely drive with various options of comfort stops before arriving at the finish at The Nantyffin Hotel, Llandisilio where refreshments will be available, and all entrants will receive a certificate for completion of the 2019 run.
One of the organisers, Norman Mason said: “The Celtic Charity Classic Tour has visited Ireland every April since 2014, (raising over £30,000 for charity), but with the organisers having a deserved break this year, we are delighted that the run will have a real Celtic feel this year with two clubs who have hosted us on our tours, Wexford Sports and Classic Car Club (who we have visited from 2013 to 2018) and West Wicklow Classic Club (2015) travelling in the opposite direction with approx 30 cars attending the run as well as The Scolton Manor Classic Show, hosted on Sunday June 2 by Pembrokeshire Classic Car Club.”
Entries are being accepted on the day of the run, with no entry fee being charged but donations (£5 per car recommended) with all proceeds going to 11 year old Logan Dagnall from Carmarthen who has Cerebral Palsy and Mitochondrial Disease.
“Logan loves the outdoors but is restricted to where he can go in his normal wheelchair and is trying to raise enough to buy a mountain eTrike to be able to explore the outdoors with his family with the top of Pen Y Fan being a long time ambition for this happy, always smiling young lad, who we are very pleased to say will cut the ribbon to start the entrants off on we hope another enjoyable classic run,” added Norman.
