An Elvis-themed fundraiser held at the Cleddau Bridge Hotel in Pembroke Dock has raised nearly £800 for Action for Children.
Elvis super-fan, Benjamin Price (22), has spina-bifida and scoliosis, but from his bed, Benjamin has helped raise thousands of pounds for charity, by organising Elvis-themed events.
This third event raised money for Action for Children’s Hawthorn Project in Haverfordwest which offers support and advice to disabled children and young people, their families and carers in Pembrokeshire.
Ben said: “I have been involved with the Hawthorn Project since I was seven. They have helped me and my family so much with all kinds of support such as organising meetings with doctors and all the many forms you need to fill out to get help and assistance. I wanted to give something back and this was a great way to do it.”
This latest fundraiser, ‘Elvis Presley and Tom Jones for one night only’ saw four Elvis impersonators and one Tom Jones tribute act perform at the Cleddau Bridge Hotel.
Benjamin added: “We had a fantastic night and raising nearly £800 was a great achievement by everybody. The money will help enable the project to take children out during the school holidays so they can enjoy this important time to the max.”
