A meeting of Tenby’s De Valence Trust is set to take place next week after a successful year, local councillors heard this week.
Speaking at Tuesday night’s meeting of the town council, Clr. Mrs, Christine Brown told her colleagues that the meeting, at which the accounts for the venue were due to be presented, would take place on July 12.
“We’ve had a really successful year and we’re delighted,” she said.
“The profits are going straight back into the building and after we recently had the gents toilets refloored, the next job is to assess the stage and ceiling lighting,” continued Clr. Mrs. Brown.
The Mayor, Clr. Laurence Blackhall, said that the return the De Valence was getting from the bar, was above expectations, and that was helping fund improvements at the venue.
Clr. Mrs. Brown added that the building would be hosting the preparations for Long Course Weekend event in the town and encouraged any volunteers to come forward.
“The Long Course competitors start to come into the building on Thursday evening, so a significant amount of out of office hours are put in over the weekend, so if people have got any time to spare, please speak to myself, Clr. Brown or the town clerk,” explained Clr. Blackhall.
