A local youth leader has been photographed as Lynx and Instagram celebrate the local heroes bringing peace to the UK. Lynx is using popular sharing app Instagram to inspire the nation to celebrate something often overlooked - the tranquility of our shores and the local people striving to bring calm to their community. Part of the Lynx Make Love Not War campaign, a new competition, 'Make Moments' launched on Friday, asks the nation to capture what peace means to them in their local community. The Lynx Make Love Not War campaign encourages fans to embrace peace in every aspect of their lives. Using the iconic phrase as inspiration, the Lynx campaign centres around three key passion points: Make Beats Not War, Make Threads Not War and Make Moments Not War. The campaign also aims to raise awareness for the Peace One Day project. To launch the Make Moments competition, British photographer and winner of three prestigious Young Photographer of the Year Awards, Matthew Lloyd, scoured the UK and Ireland to capture local heroes who are bringing peace to their communities. These images will serve as inspiration for the Lynx Make Love Not War Campaign, encouraging people to focus their passion, in this case photography. The Make Moments competition encourages people to take their own images of peace in their local area using Instagram and the hashtag #LynxPeace to be in with a chance of having their images held up as part of the British vision of peace. The winning images will be displayed alongside Matthew's collection of peace photography at an exhibition in London later this summer. Local heroes captured by Matthew include John Heffernan, leader of the Tanyard Youth Project, which helps tackle anti-social behaviour of young people through fun activities. The Make Moments competition is part of the Lynx Peace campaign to show support for the Peace One Day Project. Along with creating a new Lynx variant to help raise awareness of Peace One Day, the brand's mission is to encourage fans to embrace peace in every aspect of their lives, and focus their passions, whether that's photography, music or fashion into something positive. David Titman, marketing manager of Lynx, commented: "We are thrilled to be raising awareness for Peace One Day as part of the Lynx Peace campaign. We recognised that photography is a key passion point for our guys and we want to encourage them to explore it further by capturing their version of peace, just like Matthew has." Matthew Lloyd states: "I am delighted to be part of such a powerful campaign, not only are we raising awareness for Peace One Day, but we are also championing heroes who are doing good for their community via this collection of images. With apps like Instagram, everyone can explore a budding passion for photography and spread visual positivity to friends and family." To enter the Make Moments competition, simply take a picture of what peace means to you using Instagram and submit using the #LynxPeace.
