Through the pages of the Tenby Observer I would like to record my huge thanks to the volunteers in Saundersfoot who give their time freely, we are used to the army of people supporting charities and more recently the large scale events such as the New Year’s Day Swim, Christmas Festival, Big Bang, Long Course Weekend, Ironman and the recent Concert on the Harbour Events Deck.

However, above and beyond this I would like to say how humbled I was to see local business people, the Harbour Team and our Traffic Enforcement Officer mobilise to support the injured mother and her son, following a very unfortunate car accident in the centre of the village on Friday afternoon.

I won’t embarrass them by mentioning their names, but they stayed calm and dealt with the extremely worrying aftermath, until the emergency services arrived.

I am glad to report that the young Mum was later released from hospital, so thanks once again to the volunteers and our local emergency services
