Last week, Powells Holiday Cottages, part of the Original Cottages family, officially opened its new office in Saundersfoot, with an opening ceremony with staff and special guests.

Office team members, local homeowners and various members of public office gathered on Saundersfoot Beach to celebrate the grand unveiling.

With Gareth Mahoney, Regional Manager for Wales, Original Cottages officially opening the new office, guests included - Samuel Kurtz, Member of the Senedd for Pembrokeshire South Clr. Samuel Kurtz; Saundersfoot Community Council chair Mike Wainwright and fellow Councillor Rosemary Hayes.

Established in Saundersfoot almost 60 years ago in 1963, Powells Holiday Cottages is a familiar face in the area, and is proud to retain its local presence in the heart of the town with its brand-new office.

As well as supporting the local high street, the opening of the new office has generated new job opportunities for the local community with the recent hire of four local experts joining the team.

Laura Kerslake, Brand Manager for Wales, Original Cottages said: “We’ve been part of the Saundersfoot community for over half a century, and we are delighted to finally open our new office in the heart of town.

“Being part of the local area is incredibly important to us and our new office has not only created local jobs, but it provides the local community with a friendly face to approach for a holiday escape or advice for holiday letting.”

Local Member of the Senedd for Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire, Samuel Kurtz said: “It was fantastic to attend the opening of Powells new office on The Strand. “Despite the turmoil of the last 18 months, it’s fantastic to see businesses continuing to invest in Saundersfoot.

“By expanding their business and employing more staff, the Original Cottages family are providing a boost of confidence and support for the local economy and more importantly, bringing people to see our perfect corner of Wales.
