‘One person’s junk is another person’s treasure,’ is an old saying that holds good today, judging by the many donations sent to Ukraine for people in desperate need.

During 2019, Hebron craft group appealed for unwanted craft items, particularly knitting wool and embroidery threads. Many people donated, some items were used to make jumpers and blankets for Ukraine, others were sold raising money to support people in Ukraine and Rwanda.

Last month the chairman of Rwanda Restored went to the Kigali area to assess ongoing projects and needs, taking with him hundreds of embroidery skeins generously donated by people in this part of Pembrokeshire. Women struggling for money to feed their families produce beautiful embroideries to sell.

The women were delighted and thankful for such ‘treasure.’ Embroidery skeins when available are expensive. Small acts of kindness are greatly appreciated. ‘As we have opportunity let us do good to all people’ (Galatians 6:10).
