Sir,

After a distinguished teaching career of 36 years, including 15 years in headship, eight of them as our headteacher, Mrs. Jan Kingston has announced that she will retire at the end of next Spring term.

The governing body wish to express their heartfelt gratitude to Mrs. Kingston, who, through her leadership, has worked tirelessly and successfully to raise the standard of teaching and learning at our school, with infectious enthusiasm, empathy and charisma.

Testimony to this success is the strengthening partnership of the pupils, parents and teachers, contributing to the proud achievement of our students in the summer exam results, which were the school’s best ever.

It falls to the governing body to seek and appoint Mrs. Kingston’s successor to build on her achievements, to take our school forward on a path of continual improvement and to ensure our students are given the best opportunity possible to meet their full potential. The governing body intend to announce a new headteacher for Ysgol Greenhill School early in the New Year, to take up post at the beginning of the summer term.

Jim Dwyer,

Chair of Governors,

Ysgol Greenhill School.
