The Welsh Blood Service have urged members of the public to donate during the current pandemic - with donor sessions to take place next month in places such as Tenby, Narberth and across Pembrokeshire.
In under one hour, you could save up to three lives by giving blood in Pembrokeshire with the Welsh Blood Service this June.
“We have had to change the way we collect blood during the pandemic as most of our usual venues are closed or not suitable for social distancing requirements, therefore we have set up several regional donation hubs around Wales,” explained Donna Davies, donor engagement co-ordinator for the area.
“Tenby Leisure Centre is one of these hubs along with the Queens Hall in Narberth, and hubs at Haverfordwest and Milford Haven enable us to cover the whole area of Pembrokeshire.
“Donors are being asked to travel further than they would normally to donate at this time and we need help to get this important message out. Blood donation is classed as essential travel by the Welsh Government and we are therefore reaching out to everyone who is fit and well, where possible to attend their nearest donation clinic, we need donors to save lives.
“We are currently going through unprecedented times and we need to ensure that we have blood and platelet products to treat patients in need.
On June 1, 2, 3 and 4 you can donate at Tenby Leisure Centre; and at the Queens Hall Narberth on June 9, 10, 11 and 12.
Sessions will also take place at Haverfordwest Rugby Club on June 22, 23, 25 and 26; and at Pill Social Club in Milford Haven on June 29.
