At the end of August, Shelley Morris will retire as headteacher of Monkton Priory Community Primary.

Shelley has worked at the school for 32 years and has been headteacher for 11 years.

During her time as headteacher, the school has been awarded two national awards, a Professional Teaching Award for Promoting Wellbeing, Inclusion and Relationships with the Community in 2019 and an Open University Cymru 50th Anniversary award for supporting adult education.

The school has also produced two best practice studies for Estyn and their work highlighted in an Estyn annual report.

Shelley is married to John Morris and has a daughter Lucinda, she is the daughter of Jill O’Sullivan and the late Chan Thomas. She lives in Tenby and is looking forward to having time to pursue her interests.

Mr. Dylan Lawrence, of New Hedges, has been appointed as the new headteacher of Monkton Priory Community Primary.
