Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh received a warm sunny welcome to Pembrokeshire on Tuesday as they began a two-day tour to Wales. Bunting was flying high and flags were waved as royal fans of all ages turned out in force to greet the couple on their engagements during the day. Arriving by royal train at Haverfordwest Railway Station, first stop for the monarch was Cotts Equine Centre at Robeston Wathen. At Wales' only equine hospital, the Queen was able to indulge in her love of horses as she met founders Graham Fowke and John Edwards and toured the purpose-built facility meeting veterinary nurses, interns, surgeons and grooms, before seeing race and showjumping heroes, including Teaforthree, the bookies' favourite for the recent Grand National which unfortunately unseated its jockey during the race. "We were thrilled and honoured by our visit from Her Majesty The Queen," the hospital said afterwards. "She toured the hospital meeting all our staff en-route. Thank you to all those who came to cheer and see The Queen, in particular 1st Narberth Scouts who formed a guard of honour." The Duke, meanwhile, travelled to Puffin Produce Ltd at Withybush Industrial Estate where he visited the potato warehouse to meet Puffin growers and staff and view state-of-the-art packing equipment. His Royal Highness also unveiled a plaque in the warehouse before departure. The royal entourage then headed for Princes Gate Spring Water where there was a real party atmosphere with more excited crowds, including hundreds of local schoolchildren, all of whom delighted in welcoming them to the rural village of Princes Gate. Upon arrival they were greeted by company founders, brothers Glyn and David Jones, who established the bottled water manufacturing plant in 1991, as part of a farming diversification programme.
