The Griffon Choir was delighted to be the guests of Tenby Arts Club for the first meeting of the autumn term. Under the direction of Judy Davies and accompanied by Rob Waygood, the choir was in good voice as they performed a very varied programme carefully selected by Judy to appeal to the different tastes of arts club members.
The soloist was choir member Melanie Walker, who gave a superb performance on the marimba. Melanie had chosen works by Vivaldi, modern composers from Brazil and the Czech Republic and also ragtime and the Czardas, both of which had everyone’s feet tapping. The choice of pieces highlighted both Melanie’s skill and the range of the marimba.
The Griffons are singing in St. Mary’s Church Begelly, at 7 pm, on Sunday, October 18, when the soloist will be Amy Taylor, flautist.
