The school choir attended the Bridge Innovation Centre last week to provide entertainment for the guests attending the local Police Commendation Ceremony.

From their place high on the balcony overlooking the atrium, they sang a range of cheerful pieces under the baton of the choir leaders, Mrs. Olyott and Miss Williams, with accompaniment from Mrs. Richards.

The guests attending the event showed their appreciation for the pupils, and their efforts were acknowledge by Chief Inspector Reid, who awarded a certificate of appreciation to head teacher, Mr. Les Johnson.

Before leaving the event, the choir members were thrilled to see PCSO Carla Thomas receive her Certificate of Commendation. PCSO Thomas is a well -known face and friend at Golden Grove School, where she has forged strong links with staff, pupils and parents

Pupils from year two spent an enthralling day in the company of science experts from The Darwin Experience recently.

The pupils went on a mini bug and environmental exploration of the school's woodland area, a wonderful natural history resource.

A number of interesting finds were made and brought in to an expertly established science laboratory, where they were examined, recorded and photographed by the pupils.

Elsewhere in the school, pupils have been posing science and technology questions as a part of a project to get the questions answered by experts in the field. The questions will feature on a BBC Radio Wales in the coming months.

BBC Radio Wales presenter, Eleri Sion, held an informative and fun conversation with year six pupil Kaelen recently.

He chatted with Eleri about his day to day learning in school and the fun had in an after-school film club.
