The chair of Tenby in Bloom has praised the local gardening and maintenance team for keeping the resort’s floral flag flying over the heatwave.

Speaking at Tuesday night’s meeting of the town council, ‘In Bloom’ chair and Mayor of Tenby, Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane, said that the gardeners had done a ’sterling job’ over the summer.

“They’ve done a fantastic job in keeping the flowers alive and looking good.

She also noted that the standpipe funded by Tenby town council had been a ‘saving grace’ - greatly reducing the time spent filling the water bowser.

“If we hadn’t paid for this standpipe, then the flowers wouldn’t have lasted.

“I’m very pleased with the work and how they’ve kept the gardens looking good,” she continued.

Clr. Mrs. Lane also announced that the Tenby In Bloom awards presentation would be held on Wednesday, September 12, in the Mayor’s Parlour at the De Valence at 11 am.
