Twenty-three-year-old Eva Graf has managed to exceed her fundraising target of £800 for the organisation International Citizens Service (ICS), a long-term development programme that operates in the poorest communities around the world.
Eva will travel to Kenya on August 24 to work on a development programme for 11 weeks. She will team up with Kenyan volunteers to tackle some of the problems facing the local community.
“I am overwhelmed by the response I have had during my fundraising activities. As well as doing a beach-clean, I organised a Cream Tea in my garden last Sunday which was a huge success and I managed to raise over £400. This was helped by the generosity of some local businesses, such as Bumper to Bumper and the Chemist in Kilgetty, and also the Blue Ball Restaurant in Tenby, which each donated raffle prizes for this event. ”
“The project I’m working on is run by the development charity Balloon Ventures and aims to support local business owners generate sustainable development and growth for their enterprises. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside people from a different culture who have requested help from young volunteers to fight poverty and make a difference where it’s needed most. I have now exceeded my target and have raised an amazing £1,224.93! The money goes to a great cause and directly impacts the local communities in which the organization operates.”
“I am very thankful to everyone that has supported me during my fundraising activities and have donated.”
