St. Mary's Church, Nash, is a well-known and loved church which sadly was damaged a few months ago. There was a large fall of debris onto the altar which is thought to have been caused by birds, probably jackdaws, making nests in the roof for over 150 years.
The cost of repairing the damage is very large and currently people are working very hard to explore the possibility of getting grants.
The congregation are not sitting still and will be undertaking the following fundraising in June and July:
From June 11, for six weeks, a shop in Queens Street, Pembroke Dock, has been rented to sell items of clothing, shoes, bric-a-brac; information from Dorothy Gwyther on 01646 682162.
June 22 - concert by the Griffon Choir at Pembroke Town Hall at 7 pm, tickets £6 from Liz Thomas on 01646 681901 or Suzie at the Town Hall; light refreshments will be served.
July 18 - coffee morning at Upton Castle (courtesy of Prue and Steve Barlow) from 10 am to 12.30 pm.
As everyone is aware, the church is in need of as much funding as possible - do please give your support to these events.
