St. John's Church on Bush Street in Pembroke Dock is currently hosting another of its highly successful Flower Festivals. Last held in 2008, the new event, which is open to the public from 11 am to 4 pm, is a vivid and fragrant celebration of 'Our Town' in its bicentenary year. Flower arrangers from across the area, not to mention local businesses and other organisations, have contributed arrangements great and small. Local Christians who worship at St. John's are on hand to offer a warm welcome to visitors; light lunches and delicious snacks are also available. Members of the clergy, including new curate, Rev. Caroline Mansell, and vicar, ev. Nicky Skipworth, also offer a listening ear to all. Worship has also taken place during the week, while on Sunday services will be at 9.30 am and 6 pm. Rev. Nicky Skipworth says: "I am so pleased that St. John's is hosting this major event in the life of our parish, and that we have been given so many wonderful opportunities to lay on an official bicentenary event by the planning group. It is so beautiful, and has taken a great deal of prayer and practical effort to bring off. Well done to the team, especially Rosemary and Hylda. We very much look forward to welcoming the community into a place of worship which actually belongs to them as well as to us." The festival runs until Sunday and is well worth a visit.
