Fiction has become reality at Pembroke Dock Library as local children brought a dragon to life to mark this year's summer reading challenge. The fantastic creation, produced by member of staff Emily James, was painted and decorated with scales during an activity session as part of this year's challenge based around myths and legends. It is hoped that the dragon will fire children's imagination, as well as showing the range of different activities taking place at the library. Named 'Trigger' by Ella McKernan, the dragon will be on display at the library over the next couple of weeks, forming part of this year's summer reading challenge celebrations. And it's not too late for four to 11-year-olds in Pembrokeshire to take part in this year's challenge! The 'Mythical Maze' annual challenge encourages children to read six books during the summer holidays, with plenty of rewards and fun along the way. Children can sign up for free to take part at any library in the county. A range of free story time and activity sessions are taking place at several libraries in Pembrokeshire. Ask at your local library for details of the nearest sessions.
