Monday started with the Polish film Cold War which told the story of a dance troop and the ill fated romance which was set during the Cold War .

The Tuesday double bill was the first ‘relaxed screening’ of Mama Mia. Both Film organisers Dave Jones from the De Valence and Val Coates Rees from Films4 Tenby felt that it was a promising start.

“The aim of the relaxed screenings is to offer feel good films to people with dementia, autism, learning disabilities and any disability at a local venue at matinee. An antidote to the winter weather,” said Val.

“It was a good good movie to open with with the wonderful Abba songs deftly arranged into the plot and the excellent Meryl Streep as well as the male leads, Colin Firth, and Pierce Brosnan and Stellan Skarsgård enjoying themselves in stunning locations in glorious sunshine.

“No wonder that some of the audience dancing in their seats. Organisers were pleased to welcome people from two local residential homes,” she continued.

The De Valence has wheelchair access and a disabled toilet.

The next relaxed screening will be The Lion King on Tuesday (February 4) at the earlier start time of 1pm. The evening film will be the same film at 7 pm. Tickets are £4 or £3 for members. All are welcome.
