The latest sign up for the 2019 TenFoot Swim/Run is local father and daughter duo Deryn and Tia Brace who will be taking part in the event, part of the TenFoot and FootStep Challenge Weekend on July 12 and 13.
Deryn and Tia will be raising funds for a local charity which is close to their hearts, Paul Sartori, and in memory of their mother-in-law and nan Margaret Hanlon.
Margaret battled ovarian cancer for four years and with the help of Paul Sartori was able to spend her last days comfortably in her home with her family so the duo would like to help raise funds to support them to continue with the great work they do.
The TenFoot committee are pleased to see people using their event to help raise even more money for charity with the whole event being dedicated to raising funds for the charity with a slant towards charities close to the hearts of the local community.
This year’s event is raising funds for Huntington’s Disease Association and Bone Cancer Research Trust.
The weekend event consists of a Family Friendly Fun Run on Friday, July 12 held in Saundersfoot, a 5km Open Water Swim, and being run at the same time a 10km Swim/Run, both from Tenby to Saundersfoot.
Entries for all events are still open but the Swim and Swim/Run are limited numbers and filling fast. Entries are online at www.tenfootswim.co.uk
The TenFoot Challenge Weekend is entirely for charity and the committee would welcome the support of any boat owners, kayakaers or paddle boarders to join their safety support team on the day.
