A Young Farmers’ Clubs (YFC) showcase at the Senedd has celebrated the impressive work being carried out by the young farmers’ clubs to support and empower young people across Wales.
The event was sponsored by West Carmarthenshire and South Pembrokeshire’s Senedd Member Samuel Kurtz, who is also Vice Chair of Pembrokeshire Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs. Also in attendance was neighbouring Welsh Parliament Member Paul Davies (MS for Preseli Pembrokeshire).
On hearing first-hand accounts from young Welsh farmers, who shared how the organisation has helped shape their personal and professional development, Mr Davies praised the YFC movement for its vital role in fostering a sense of community, leadership, and opportunity among Welsh youth.
Mr Davies reaffirmed his support for the organisation’s ongoing work, saying:
“I was pleased to once again show my support for the YFC movement. It was inspiring to hear from so many young farmers about their experiences in young farmers’ clubs and how that has helped them develop lifelong skills, build confidence, and connect with like-minded individuals.”
He added, “Young farmers’ clubs across Wales do a tremendous amount of good work, supporting local charities and providing opportunities for children and young people. They also support our culture and heritage and help keep the Welsh language alive.”
