As Wales prepares to transition to the new Sustainable Farming Scheme, over 70 farmers attended the Farmers’ Union of Wales’ recent roadshow event in Pembrokeshire.

Farmers heard from the FUW’s Policy Team and local County Officers at the meeting in Clarbeston Road Memorial Hall.

It was one of 11 roadshows across Wales aiming to provide practical information and guidance ahead of the launch of the Sustainable Farming Scheme on January 1, 2026, the most significant shift in Welsh agricultural policy for generations.

Presentations covered key topics such payment structure, eligibility criteria, and the gradual tapering of Basic Payment Scheme support. Attendees were also given an overview of the FUW’s own support services, which include locally provided advice and assistance with the paperwork.
