Sir,

Tenby is a very special place. The setting, the charm of the town and the people who live there combine to make it so. Not least amongst the things that make it special is its incredibly rich heritage, a heritage that is etched on the face of the town itself.

We are told that the county council is considering placing a replica stone circle in Battery Gardens, a location where there never was not ever would have been a stone circle. Tenby has so much real history that it does not need false history.

Unless this proposal has been misrepresented, it is at best an act of gross ignorance and at worst an insult to Tenby.

As previous correspondents have said, there must be many better ways of spending this money.

Douglas Fraser,

Tenby.
