COMMUNITY beach cleaning group Newgale Beach Wombles celebrated a momentous weekend for the Pembrokeshire coastline.

Following the group’s successful litter pick at Newgale on Saturday morning, volunteers also joined the powerful Paddle Out protest at Broad Haven organised by Surfers Against Sewage.

Ten dedicated volunteers scoured the beach, collecting 3.5kg of litter and helping protect one of Pembrokeshire’s most beautiful coastlines.

The protest brought together surfers, campaigners, politicians and ecologists, all united behind one clear message: Our seas and beaches deserve better.

“The speeches were inspiring, the turnout was fantastic, and the paddle out itself was a truly moving moment to witness and be part of,” the group posted, adding: “A huge thank you to everyone who volunteered, supported and stood up for cleaner oceans and healthier waterways.”
