Where would we all be without music in our lives? A 20-strong Pembrokeshire choir has reconvened and welcomes bookings.
A lively group of 20 members gathered last Thursday evening to appoint officers for the coming year and hear about plans for the new term. The choristers had come armed with an eclectic selection of music from their vast repertoire, including works by Elton John, John Rutter, Lionel Bart and Andrew Lloyd Webber.
Nearer to Christmas, they will be delving into their book of 100 Carols and re-visiting several of their most requested Christmas songs.
They were delighted to hear from Chairman Ray Hughes that they had already received several bookings, but the choir would still welcome approaches by any local organisation or private party.
This year, the Quaynotes have performed in a number of local churches, have ‘busked’ at Saundersfoot in aid of Ukraine, and have sung outdoors at a charity event in aid of the RNLI at Angle.
If you would like them to come and sing for you, contact Secretary Caroline on 07881 973305, or for any general enquiries ring Janice on 01834 849148.
Quaynotes Choir meets weekly on Thursdays in the schoolroom at Carew Wesley Chapel at 7.30pm.
Rehearsals normally last for two hours and there is ample car parking at the rear of the chapel. The choir is currently recruiting for new members, ideally with some choral experience, and would particularly welcome tenors and basses.
