TORCH Theatre has announced its Sunset Cinema season for 2025. From Pembroke Castle to Saundersfoot Harbour and an exciting new venue for this year, Cardigan Castle, there’s a film and location to suit all.
There will be selected matinee screenings of family friendly films using a state-of-the-art outdoor LED screen.
Sunset Cinema, in association with its official media partner Pure West Radio, will kick off the 2025 season on Saturday, July 26 with the ever-popular Top Gun: Maverick at Saundersfoot Harbour
Saundersfoot Harbour will again be the venue for a double bill of Toy Story and Bohemian Rhapsody on Friday, August 1. Grease is the word on Friday 8 August and will entertain all on a Summer Night.
Cardigan Castle has joined the Torch Theatre’s Sunset Cinema season this year, showing Toy Story and Top Gun on Thursday 7 August. On the afternoon of Thursday, August 14, The Lion King will be screened, followed by Elvis that same evening.
Back in Saundersfoot on Friday, August 15, the feel-good summer hit Grown Ups will delight audiences.
Tŵr y Felin, St Davids will screen Pirates Of The Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl on Saturday, August 16.
Two weeks later and with the summer holidays in full swing, Saundersfoot Harbour will be showing The Lion King on the afternoon of Friday, August 22. And that same evening, dance and sing along to Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again!
Over in Cardigan Castle the following evening, August 23, see Saturday Night Fever (18).
Pembroke Castle will magically transform into Hogwarts as Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets hits the big screen on Friday, August 29. We then look towards the western sky as Wicked arrives at the Castle on Saturday, August 30.
“We try not to let the Pembrokeshire weather affect our outdoor screenings and if it rains the show will go on. Only in the case of extreme weather, such as dangerously high winds will the screenings be cancelled. We advise everyone to dress appropriately and to check the weather forecast before each screening,” said Chelsey Gillard, Torch Theatre’s Artistic Director.
“The Torch Theatre can’t wait to entertain you during the long, warm summer days and nights at several iconic locations across our beautiful county. From Saundersfoot Harbour to Pembroke Castle, what better venues to watch your favourite films on a glorious sunny afternoon or under star-studded skies? And we’re also looking forward to venturing to Cardigan Castle with our big screen to entertain all.”
