THIS month’s Jazz Lunch at Tenby’s Clarence House Hotel featured the vibrant Ross Hicks Trio and the audience seemed to love just about every chord.
Talented pianist Ross Hicks was joined by fellow Welsh College of Music and Drama graduate Ryan Thrupp on drums and bassist Nick Kacal, now based in Cardiff after a couple of decades on the London scene.
As well as tunes from their recently released debut album, Three Elms - Cuarentena was impressive with its Bossa Nova overlay - the band tackled classics such as How my Heart Sings, Endless Stars and Passacaglia.
Time now for a winter rest before the Jazz Lunch series restarts on February 15 with the Django Reinhardt / Stéphane Grappelli inspired Llandjango from Ceredigion.
