SAXOPHONE and piano duo from Scotland, Ian Millar and Dominic Spencer, the ‘UK’s hardest working jazz group’, will be appearing at Ludchurch, near Narberth, on Friday, July 4.
“"Very cool music played in a magical atmosphere - this will appeal to jazz novices as well as hardcore enthusiasts,” said Three Weeks Magazine.
For their 2025 tour, Ian and Dominic are taking their blend of melodic jazz standards and original compositions to rural communities all over the UK. They are unique among jazz musicians, using programmable lighting and table lights to create a wonderful intimate atmosphere for the music. Expect warm, intelligent, reflective, human music and a breathtaking show at Longstone Community Hall.
Ian and Dominic tell stories of their travels in their Tour Bus - an old converted Yorkshire Ambulance, in an entertaining evening of creative music and enthusiastic joy.
“We are delighted to be performing all over the UK in a variety of venues with many sell out concerts and record sales in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival” said Ian.
“We are now also making many return visits to venues up and down the country. Throughout lock down we called ourselves the Socially Distanced Duo now we’re getting out and meeting our audience again!” added Dominic.
“We play accessible, melodic jazz and tell amusing stories about some our touring experiences from the places we have played and visited.
“We usually set the hall out in a cabaret style with low lighting and tea light candles on the tables, to create an intimate concert setting.
“We don’t have funding so we rely on good will and volunteers at the village hall to make these concerts possible.”
The concert at Ludchurch on Friday, July 4 starts at 8pm. There will be a licensed bar. Accompanied under 16s get free entry. For tickets, visit lovelyludchurch.co.uk or call 01968 679299.
