The Friends of St Mary’s Church had a jolly time at an afternoon of quizzes and music in Church House.
Guests answered questions on the royal family, tried to name celebrities from their pictures, proved how well-travelled they were by identifying places around the world, and discovered that the knew a lot of tunes but couldn’t remember the words!
Tea and cakes were served and Lucy Evans, a member of the choir at St Mary’s, sang beautifully, accompanied at the piano by Mark Thompson who is St Mary’s choirmaster.
There was a raffle and a performance of The Twelve Days of Christmas - with actions. Rev’d Andrew Grace thanked everybody for supporting The Friends, who provide, through their fundraising, the ‘extras’ for St Mary’s church.
