The September Harvest meeting opened with a warm welcome to members, 11 guests and demonstrator Corinne Cariad.

There was an excellent harvest table of goods for PATCH and everyone was thanked for their generous donations.

A short meeting was held with congratulations given to Elaine on the birth of her grandson, to Dawn on the birth of her granddaughter and also the marriage of her son Ross to Lucy. Congratulations were also passed to Marlene’s grandson Cody for his excellent GCSE results and also his brother Jay who sat three exams early. Linda’s granddaughter Kayleigh was congratulated on passing her next level cha cha cha, samba, paso doble and quick step dance exams. Members were very pleased to congratulate Linnia on her recent retirement from work.

Corinne then proceeded to explain the process of food fermentation to a very interested audience. She was warmly thanked by Linnia who, along with many of the ladies, planned to try the process themselves.

Everyone then enjoyed a lovely harvest supper supplied by Linda followed by an excellent selection of desserts made by the committee. Guest Lorna thanked all involved for the evening’s invitation and for putting on such a lovely spread.

The raffle was drawn with Pam winning the wine, Margaret a fruit basket and guests Wendy and Kath winning a fruit basket and chocolates respectively.

The next meeting will be at 7pm on Monday October 9 in the hall at Summerhill, Amroth when Tudor Thomas will talk about local myths and legends. Feel free to go along, as guests are always most welcome.
