One of Pembrokeshire’s largest churches is holding a free Art in the Attic Festival over three days, August 10, 11 and 12.
Local artists and Crafters will be displaying and selling their work at St Mary’s Church, Carew, open , 11am to 4pm.
A display of pre-loved pictures will be for sale, along with a plants and produce.
Bring the children to join in with the arts and crafts and to have a run around the church yard on the Animal Trail.
Have a look round the historic church, walk round the arts and crafts and then enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and some cake.
For those interested in historic church buildings, the oratory/charnel House will be open.
The event will close with an Ecumenical Songs of Praise Sunday, August 13, at 6pm, All welcome.
The festival will offer a rare opportunity to see inside the oratory/charnel House which is a unique survival from the early 14th Century. The ground floor comprises of a vault where bones where periodically burnt. The upper story is the chapel with its own altar; this was probably a chantry chapel dedicated to the Carew family. The upper floor will be open with a display of local photos.
Funds raised will go to St Mary’s church ceiling repairs and restoring the Grade 2 list almshouses in the church grounds (now housing the WC)
