The Torch Theatre in Milford Haven is overwhelmed by the response to a brand-new programme of free events from January to March 2024.

These events which are starting to fill up quickly are called ‘A Warm Space at the Torch’, they include chair yoga, art, drama fun and a book club aimed for those over 50.

Made possible thanks to funding from the National Lottery Community Fund, the free events at the Torch Theatre have already attracted a lot of interest from local clubs and societies.

Tim Howe, Senior Manger Youth and Community at the Torch explains more:

“We’re already really pleased with the response to our fantastic offer of events. We have had people contacting us from residential homes for the elderly and we are eagerly looking forward to welcoming everyone to the Torch. With such a positive interest we are asking people to book in advance for our events as numbers are limited for some of the activities.”

“We know that having the opportunity to access safe and regular creative connections supports everyone’s mental health and well-being, so we have put together a fortnightly rolling programme which allows people to try out different activities. Each session will include free tea and coffee, as well as plenty of time to meet new people and chat with friends.”

The following activities are on offer:

Tuesday, February 6 and 20, March 5, 19 and 26 – Investigating line, shape, colour, and form with local artist Chris Prosser. Sessions will encourage creativity and motor skills through painting, printing, and clay sculpting.
