Sunday's service began with a time of praise and worship led by Debbie, and the music group.

Pastor Ed spoke on 'Healing'. Many people forget that healing was a huge part of Jesus ministry here on earth. Many healing and miracles are recorded in the Bible during Jesus ministry. Many of the healings mentioned in the Bible record an act of faith. The woman who crawled through a crowd just to touch the hem of Jesus' garment. She knew that if she could touch Him, she would be healed, and she was. The centurion, whose slave was ill, knew that Jesus only had to say the word, and the slave would recover, and he did. These are just a couple of examples from many. But they all have a common factor, and that is faith. You may say 'I don't have any faith'. The Word tells us that 'Faith comes by hearing', spend time reading the Word, pray and seek God.

God heals today, many throughout history, and in this day and age have been healed from all kinds of illness and disease through the power of Jesus (including many at this church). Pastor Edward emphasised the point that God wants to heal us. When Jesus returned to heaven, He sent down the Holy Spirit to be our helper. Jesus work continues through us as believers through the Holy Spirit. Jesus commanded the disciples to 'Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons' (Matt 10:8).

Many of you will have heard of the footballer Fabrice Muamba, who was dead for 78 minutes, but is now making a seemingly full recovery with no brain damage whatsoever. These are his own words: "What happened to me was really more than a miracle," he told The Sun. "On the morning of the game, I prayed with my father and asked God to protect me - and he didn't let me down. I am walking proof of the power of prayer. For 78 minutes, I was dead and, even if I lived, was expected to have suffered brain damage. But I'm very much alive and sitting here talking now. Someone up there was watching over me."

No matter what your situation, your condition, what chances the doctors have given you, there is always hope with God!
