This Sunday's service began with a joyful time of praise and worship led by Jackie Rodda.
Joshua Fiddy spoke this week on 'What God wants to see in us'. He began by explaining how important it is to get your priorities in life right, the world in general has blinded itself, people base and define themselves on their pay packet, their job, what car they drive, what they consume. These things do play a role in our lives, but should not define us or take priority. God says through the story of the two men that built houses, one on the rock, and one on the sand, that we need to build our lives upon Him and His word. Getting security out of worldly things is like building your house upon the sand, they could so easily be taken away, you could lose your job, people you trust can let you down, in a single day, the foundations of your life could be ripped apart. But God says if you build your life upon Him, He will never let you down. In the story, the storms came to both the men, but the house built on the rock (God) endured the storm. God promises in His word that He will be faithful to us no matter what situations may come up, He will provide for all our needs, He will never leave us or forsake us.
