Meidrim Rotakids have had a lesson on what life is like for children in Malawi thanks to Beth and Jo Robinson from the Fisherman’s Rest Charity.
Sitting on blocks or stones instead of chairs is the norm for children in Africa. Writing without having a desk to rest on, nothing on their feet the children sampled what it was like.
They also met some of the children by way of photographs. Some have benefited from the work of Fisherman’s Rest Charity, some will benefit in the future.
The challenge for the Rotakids is to collect children books to send out to Malawi and to fundraise for the charity.
Rotarians Mary, Ann and Rob, of Rotary Club of Narberth and Whitland, were shown the eco greenhouse currently being constructed at the school.
“It’s amazing. Rotarians can’t wait to see the finished project and see what they grow,” said Mary Adams who is spearheading the Rotakids project
