The Narberth and Whitland Round Table recently presented a cheque for £200 to the Living Memory Group, a Narberth based charity for people who have become isolated because of health.

The cheque was presented at the Beer Festival over the Bank Holiday Weekend held in the Queen’s Hall in Narberth.

Table chairman Andrew Thomas stated: “It’s really important for us to give back and support our local community when we fund raise locally.

“We are keen to make a difference in both Narberth and Whitland and we are really pleased to help this great group which does such good work.”

The LMG is a Narberth based charity which meets at the Rugby Club at 1pm every first and third Thursday of the month. The group helps people who have become socially isolated integrate and make friends with interesting activities focused on therapy and intergenerational socialisation.

The cheque was presented to trustee and founder of the group, Mary Adams, who was delighted to accept the cheque on behalf of the group.

She said: “We are really grateful for the donation from the Round Table who do such a lot of valuable fund raising activities.

“Our group, now in its third year, is going from strength to strength. We would welcome anyone who is lonely, bereaved, or has health problems to attend the group. The group improves people’s mood and mind set and is proving a real hit with its members.

“This money will help us pay for activities and trips to improve socialisation within our locality.”
