Sir, Good to witness most local residents are complying with the nationwide instructions to restrict their movements as per the four conditions allowing them to leave their home. However, it would seem that members of cycling clubs feel able to disregard the order that no more than two people, and these from the same family, are allowed to take exercise local to their home.
The lanes around Redberth, Jeffreyston, Cresselly, Carew, and surrounding areas are being used throughout the year, and are continuing to be used now.
Whilst it is lovely to see village locals walking and cycling with their children during this crisis, the same cannot be said of the would-be Bradley Wiggins tearing around the lanes on their racing cycles, adorned in their brightly coloured lycra and helmets, miles away from their homes.
They seem to be totally oblivious to the dangers of speeding down narrow country lanes and the demands that would be put on the emergency services, should they be involved in an accident.
They need to accept the fact that the Olympic Games have been postponed until next year and they are required to comply with government instruction as the rest of the population have to.
John Benniman,
Redberth.
