Town councillors want a crackdown on flyposting across Tenby.

Addressing a licensing application for an artist who wanted to sell paintings within a cove on the town’s Esplanade, Deputy Mayor, Clr. Sue Lane told her colleagues at Tuesday night’s meeting of the town council, that she had collected a number of flyers along that area from this seller, and she was considering posting them all to Pembrokeshire County Council’s head of street care, to illustrate what a nuisance they had caused.

“This form of flyposting is all over the place and really should be stopped,” she said.

“I took around 20 posters down and they went straight back up!” continued Clr. Mrs. Lane, with Clr. Will Rossiter stating that another business in the locality had been guilty of similar flyposting too.

“We should write to those responsible and make it clear to them that they can’t flypost and perhaps the message will get out,” suggested the Mayor, Clr. Laurence Blackhall.

“If everyone did this, then the town would be full of it, and it’s not fair to everyone else. We have the notice board in Tenby and ones in the De Valence, and I’m sure these businesses could also take out an ad in the Observer which is very well read!” he added.
