Saturday, June 2, is rapidly approaching and the village of Cosheston is gearing up for its celebration of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
One of the events on the day will be a Medieval re-enactment displayed by the Knights of Longshank. They are a 13/14th century society enacting the period of British history during the Anglo/Welsh/Scottish wars of Edward I and Edward II's reign. They travel the United Kingdom performing shows.
However, they are not exclusively a combat society and over the years they have been steadily building up their living history section. They will be performing between 2 and 4 pm.
Cait Moore, of Cosheston village, enjoyed being part of the re-enactment and displayed excellent battle skills. A novice trainee knight, she displayed her prowess and skill by defeating a much older and experienced knight. Girl Power!
This event is kindly being supported by The BIG Lottery, Wales, from whom a sum of £3896 has been received. In addition, Valero Energy Ltd and Pembroke Power Station have each given £500, while Pembrokeshire County Council have supported the event with assistance in Welsh translation and printing.
