It is with great disappointment that I have noticed a ‘no ball games’ sign has recently been put up on the gates into Pentlepoir park.

I spend my time encouraging my children to play outdoors and tempting them away from their games consoles. Pentlepoir park is one we use regularly and one where we often enjoy games which involve balls.

Surely the whole purpose of a park is to provide children with a safe area in which they can play? Where else can they safely play ball games if not on a children’s play park?!

With this in mind, this new addition sign just seems a completely ridiculous notion.

I would therefore urge whoever has put up this stupid sign to come and take it down again! Let our children have fun and play safely as they wish on their park!
