My daughter and I had the privilege to help out at the Carew senior citizens Christmas dinner last Saturday. We have done this for a few years now, but I felt that I should write and congratulate Carew Community Council, and especially the cooks Bronwen and Sharron, for putting on a first class evening.

The pensioners have a three-course dinner with all the trimmings, wine, crackers, mince pies, all at no cost to them, completely free. We catered for nearly 80 pensioners, and anyone who was not able to get out, a dinner was delivered to their homes.

Each person left with a wrapped gift, no one was left out, entertainment was put on and everyone had a good old sing-song. I am proud to live in such a wonderful village, where community spirit is very much alive.
