TIME for Tenby is working together with local businesses, Pembrokeshire County Council and local volunteers to help clean the streets of Tenby town centre.

Mirroring an exercise done a few years ago, teams will use Pembrokeshire County Council bowsers and jet washers to clean the streets in Tudor Square and the High Street. Participating businesses will also use their equipment as part of this joint initiative.

Welcoming the support of local businesses, Tenby South Ward County Councillor Sam Skyrme-Blackhall said: “I am very grateful for the support of wonderful Tenby businesses who are supporting this initiative. We are being supported by Caldey Construction, Coastal Developments and Smart Gardens. Please do get in touch if you would like to help.”

In addition to jet-washing, volunteers will be clearing sand from steps and slopes and weeding in and around town.

Sam added: “This is in addition to the fabulous work that the teams from Pembrokeshire County Council do every day of the year. Volunteers and businesses just want to give a boost to the efforts to keep Tenby clean and tidy”

Cleaning will start early each morning around 6am and will finish at 7.30am as town begins to get busy.

One of the leading business co-ordinators, Sion Brace of Caldey Construction, said: “We recognise that the cleaning will create some noise but for safety reasons, we need to clean when the streets are empty.”
