ON April 30, Tenby and District Camera Club held its last presentation of the season: ‘Inside My Head’ by Dave Norton of Rhondda Camera Club.
It was a wonderful insight into Dave’s style of work and how he produces the fantastic images that have won him many awards and accolades. His photos come from looking at life from a different angle especially with humour.
Dave takes many different photos and merges them into a compelling montage. He was very inspirational with his knowledge and creativity, with all the components of the images coming from his vast library of images. These could be textures, people, places or buildings for instance. This was a very entertaining and stimulating talk, illustrated with prints and digital photographs.
‘Variety is the Spice of Life’ was the title of a fascinating recent presentation by Chepstow-based Allan Lloyd, a regular speaker at Tenby and District Camera Club.
It started with Allan’s experiences visiting Alaska. Salmon spawning and the attracted bears in the rivers and on waterfalls were superbly photographed. There was other wildlife too, bald eagles for instance and some spectacular landscapes as well.
Allan is an enthusiastic and experienced drone photographer and he spent time demonstrating how to fly a drone and answered the many questions from that field.
Finally, the club was treated to Allan’s beautiful images taken over the years, of distant galaxies and stars. There was an excellent explanation of the equipment used, what software is required and the best type of locations to capture the Milky Way and much more beyond.
