In the recent Welsh Salon event, four Tenby Club members achieved excellent results with awards. They were Charlie Kidd (Best Image in PDI Section for ‘Goshawk…’), Paul James (Best Portrait for ‘Judge, Secretary and Treasurer’ and Phone PDI Best Portrait for ‘Sisters and Friends’), Jan Sullivan (Phone PDI Judges Award for ‘Light on the Fallen’; PDI Best Nature for ‘The Fly By’) and Jayne Crocker (Phone PDI Best Landscape for ‘Forged City’).
Jayne had all four of her entries in the Open Phone PDI Section accepted; Jan had six entries accepted and Charlie had nine entries accepted.
Tenby and District Camera Club is affiliated to the Federation and relies on this national body for judges, photographic awards and a basic co-ordinating role for some 39 South Wales Clubs. At the recent AGM they recognised Tenby chairman Dave Lewis with the award of an Honorary Fellowship of the WPF.
Dave has supported photography in Wales over many years and from the club’s point of view has been an invaluable link between Tenby and the WPF. The club’s success is of course down to its members’ high quality work but Dave Lewis’s contribution has very much helped to keep Tenby’s profile high at a national level.
