THE chance find of a gallantry medal awarded to a Lancaster bomber crewman in World War II begins a remarkable story which will be told at a talk on November 11 hosted by the Pembrokeshire Aviation Group at Pembroke Dock.

Peter Hilton’s talk will take place at the Pembroke Dock Heritage Centre, Meyrick Owen Way, SA72 6WS, on Tuesday, November 11, commencing at 7.30pm.

Peter’s research began when he acquired the Distinguished Flying Medal awarded to an RAF wireless operator and led him to discover the stories of the crew of Lancaster R5613 who were shot down in 1942.

Non-members are most welcome, with a modest contribution of £1 to help defray costs.
